Luther H. Hodges, Jr. joins the Board

Carlsbad, CA, June 7, 12  

Market Street Financial, LLC, today announced the election of Luther H. Hodges, Jr. to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Hodges has enjoyed a longstanding and highly successful career as a banker and in government service. His commercial banking experience includes longstanding tenure as Chairman of the Board of the North Carolina National Bank (now Bank of America) during the years it grew to become the largest bank in the Southeast.  Subsequently, he was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce in the Carter Administration and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Washington Bancorporation and The National Bank of Washington (DC).

Mr. Hodges was Owner and Publisher of The Santa Fean Magazine and an owner and manager of the Hotel Santa Fe. He has served on the faculty of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Duke University, and the University of New Mexico and was Chairman of the Board of the College of Santa Fe.  His teaching and publications center upon business history and focus on how business enterprises, practices, and leaders influence and, in turn, are influenced by both society and the actions of government.
